PENGUIN RANDOM HOUSE SEA ANNOUNCES PENGUIN FOOTPRINTS: A LITERARY WALK THROUGH CHINATOWN

Singapore, 3 October 2025: As part of Penguin Random House Southeast Asia (PRH SEA)’scommemorative campaign celebrating Singapore’s 60th year of independence, the publishing house is partnering with Everyday Tour Company (ETC) Singapore to launch their very first immersive walking tour inspired by the city’s rich literary heritage. Scheduled for Sunday, 26 October, Penguin Footprints: A Literary Walk Through Chinatown celebrates the books published by Penguin, the authors who shared their stories, the culture captured in words and the people immortalized in books.

The tour is designed around books published by Penguin SEA that capture Singapore’s culture, history, and people. Over the course of 2.5 hours, participants will follow in the footsteps of characters and authors through iconic locations — from the Singapore River to Telok Ayer, Chinatown, and Duxton Hill. Each stop will bring to life stories of resilience, migration, identity, and transformation that define Singapore.

Adding to the experience, Penguin authors will join along the way to share their personal stories of Singapore, making the tour a truly interactive celebration of literature and place. The journey will conclude at Book Bar, where participants will enjoy a special discount on Penguin books, alongside exclusive collectible merchandise created just for this tour.
