Malcolm Mejin

Malcolm Mejin has been chasing stories since the age of six, scribbling down tales filled with adventure and
mystery. At fifteen, he wrote his very first young adult novel instead of doing what most teens were doing— like, say, paying attention in class (except for writing class, of course). That spark turned into a lifelong love affair with storytelling, especially when it comes to themes of heartbreak, love, and betrayal.

I’m Sorry I Love You is his first young adult novel published by Penguin Random House SEA, a dream-come-true milestone after years of writing both children’s and young adult books that have reached readers across Southeast Asia. His YA stories often balance humour with heartbreak, because to him, a story isn’t complete without both laughter and tears.

When he’s not writing, Malcolm can usually be found exploring new places with family and friends, café-hopping his way through hidden corners of Malaysia and beyond or stumbling upon something quirky that
sparks inspiration for the next page he’ll write.

Malcolm is also a regular speaker at schools across Southeast Asia, where he shares his journey as an
author and encourages students to embrace the joy of reading and writing. Through his visits, he hopes to
inspire a new generation of young writers to find their voice and tell their own stories. Malcolm will always
keep writing—it’s where he finds joy.
