Anthony Shieh is a Taiwanese-Filipino-Dutch novelist and speaker based in Manila. He has aspired to be an author since the age of 14. Although he worked as a Human Capital professional and Marketing Innovator, he continued writing throughout his career, eventually realizing that his true calling was to be a writer.
Anthony writes with a strong sense of inclusivity, ensuring that the characters in his stories are heard and understood. He champions the importance of representation, believing that everyone deserves a platform in literature to share their stories.
Anthony was a Fellow at the first Paradox Philippine Speculative Fiction Writing Fellowship at the University of the Philippines. He was also shortlisted for the 2025 Writers-in-Residence program of the Taiwan Literature Base, curated by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature.
He is the author of the horror novel Head by the Ceiling (Anvil Publishing, 2025) and Run Red Run, a crime, mystery, and thriller story included in the Filipino Fiction for Young Adult anthology to be published by UP Press in 2026. He has also authored three other books that have gained wide readership. His works have been featured in the Philippine Inquirer, CHiNOY TV, Tatler Asia, TheBeat.Asia, The Diarist, The Medium, and The Manila Times.
In his free time, he enjoys watching horror movies, cooking, painting, and savoring a good cup of coffee. He travels occasionally, and many of these experiences find their way into the settings of his novels.
